While Facebook now allows you to choose your own username, with 200 million people on it, not everyone will get the one they want so it's good to keep this in your arsenal.

Yes, thanks. It was cleared up just a few days after I posted this blog post and sent in the letter to the editor. They gave us a call and told us to come in and apply for it. Now we are just waiting to receive it in the mail.

Jack --

I wanted to double check on the problem with your wife obtaining a social security card. My understanding is that this problem has now been cleared. But I wanted to hear that directly from you. Thanks.

Some things you're using on a daily basis are more than worth paying for, especially when they meet your quality standards. Although, free always sounds good...lol

Personally, I thought Ubuntu wasn't the OS for the rest of us around the v5-v6 timeframe. Its sad, but somewhat predictable, to learn that it has gotten worse since then.

I'm not one of those open source geeks who whine when they learn that someone in the world is using a MS product. Use the tools that do the job for you. If that's Windows with ported open source tools, so be it.

Although I would say that there are a few 'desktop' open source OSes that actually do work right out of the box. I'm working on one right now. There are a few others that are close. So keep checking back. E-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y, one will work for you.
