Using Voice Recognition For Writing

I made a comment a couple of days ago about using Dragon Naturally Speaking to help me with my writing. At first I had tried using the voice-recognition feature built into Windows Vista. Unfortunately, it was not very effective. I spent several hours trying to train it but it couldn’t quite recognize my speech correctly.

I didn’t know if Dragon NaturallySpeaking would be effective or not and I asked for opinions in the comments. I decided to spend the money and actually get the cheapest version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking that I could find.

I spent about 20 minutes training it and then I attempted to write my first article with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I was impressed with how quickly and easily it worked and how it helped improve my productivity. In fact I am writing this post using Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Can you guess how many times I’ve had to make a correction? Exactly four times. Not too bad right?

Voice Recognition Solutions

I am currently investigating using a voice recognition system to help me create even more content, more quickly and easily. There looks to be two options out there in terms of voice recognition software.

Last night, I tried setting up the voice recognition software that comes standard with Windows Vista. Unfortunately, after a lot of playing around with it, I couldn’t find any real success with getting it to recognize my speech, at least not in anything less than an irritating way.

The other option out there is Dragon Naturally Speaking. I think I might find a cheap version of it and see how it works. If it works good, then maybe I can go with a more advanced version. Does anyone have any experience with Dragon Naturally Speaking?

Earlier I talked about going to Branson and a lot of the things to do in Branson, Missouri. I was doing some searching on Leapfish and I found a great video on Youtube about Branson that I’d like to share.

It kind of gives you an idea about what to expect in Branson and all the things there are to do there. Have fun and enjoy it!

I can’t believe that it’s already the end of January. It seems like spring will be here before you know it. It’s been a tough winter, so Spring will be a welcome relief.

I am thinking about all of the Spring cleaning we need to do and all of the trips that we can take to the mountains in the months to come. It should be a great experience. I am certainly looking forward to it all right now.

It will all be another way to spend quality time with the family and that makes it all worthwhile.

Traffic is the life blood of any website. Increasing web traffic results in more income. Some people think that it’s expensive to get web traffic, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. There are ways to promote a site for free.

How so? You need two tools. You need the StumbleUpon bar in your browser and you need the Addthis widget on your website. You should submit your best pages to StumbleUpon and encourage others to give it a thumbs up. This can result in a large amount of traffic. The Addthis widget helps those visitors easily share your posts. You can see the Addthis widget at the bottom of every post I make on this blog. By clicking on it, user can share your post on any number of social media outlets.

If you need traffic, then you need to be doing this now. You can be successful online, but you have to make it happen.
