Chinese Foreign Ministry: Internet Should Fear China
Well, it looks like Youtube is blocked in China once again. It seems like it’s been blocked on and off for years. This time it’s been blocked, banned or whatever because of a video that shows Tibetans being beaten and shoved around. In fact, it shows one protester who later died of the wounds inflicted by Chinese gangsters on him. Yes, gangsters is about all I can call the Chinese government at this stage.
China did respond somewhat to questions about whether they had banned Youtube or not, but the response was actually quite frightening.
The government did not directly address whether YouTube had been blocked. When asked about the matter at a news conference, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, Qin Gang, said: “Many people have a false impression that the Chinese government fears the Internet. In fact, it is just the opposite.“
Ouch, that is quite scary. The opposite of the Chinese government fearing the internet is the internet fearing the Chinese government. At least we now have on record the Foreign Ministry spokesman as declaring that the internet should fear the Chinese government.
What evil dastardly plans does the Chinese government have for the internet?
Updating The Blog
Well, it’s been awhile since I made my last blog post here. I just wanted to make a quick post to say hi and mention that very soon there will be more posts coming on here as I get settled in my new place.
Yes, I made the plunge. I moved to a beautiful tropical island paradise to try my hand at this internet business thing full time. I hope that I can be as successful as I know it’s possible to be and I hope that all of you can come along and enjoy the ride.
For now, just check out my Squidoo lensmaster page to see some of the many Squidoo lenses that I am working on right now.
